Application form

The official application forms for a stand at the Basel Autumn Fair can be completed online here from the first Wednesday after the Autumn Fair in November. The closing date for registrations is always the last day of January of the year in which the Basel Autumn Fair takes place.

Detailed description

The Basel Autumn Fair is Switzerland's biggest and oldest fun fair. Dating back over 550 years, it is part of the city of Basel's living cultural heritage. As a traditional city centre fair, it extends far beyond the three-country region. Applications can be submitted in the six categories of "show/ride/funhouse", "children's business", "games and shooting business", "catering business", "confectionery business" and "trade and craft business".

Working steps

The application period runs from the first Wednesday after the Autumn Fair in November until the end of January. Applications are only accepted via the online form. No printed applications will be accepted.

Registrations are usually accepted and rejected in May/June. If you are accepted, you will receive the invoice for the stand fees (payment deadline by September) with other relevant documents for the Basel Autumn Fair. Rejections will be sent by registered letter to the address given on the form.

Legal basis

In accordance with Section 6(2) of the Ordinance on Fairs and Markets in the City of Basel of 16 June 2009, there is no entitlement to the allocation of a stand or a specific stand location, not even for persons who have previously been granted a stand permit. The permit issuer only issues a permit for the registered business.

Terms of purchase and use:

If a permit is granted, the applicant agrees to the disclosure of location, business and personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

The Division of External Affairs and Marketing in the Department of Presidential Affairs is authorised to withdraw the stand permit issued at any time if it transpires that a business does not correspond to the information provided in the application form.
